Evenflo Triumph Advance Deluxe Convertible Car Seat

This article was written by Sheena. A freelance writer who is a close personal friend of the Head Mommy’s who happens to be gloriously pregnant! Please visit her new blog Mommy Daddy Blog for more information about her and her pregnancy! She’s a riot and I hope to have her back more frequently for amazing articles and reviews!

Triumph Advance Deluxe Convertible Car SeatChoosing the right car seat for your newborn can be quite frustrating. When shopping around for that perfect car seat, you envision a product that will ensure that your child is safe while traveling and one that your child will be comfortable in. You want a product that is affordable and one that you don’t have to keep replacing as your child grows. Where can you find such a product? Evenflo.

Evenflo offers a variety of convertible car seats that meet and/or exceed all applicable U.S. safety standards. Personally, I was blown away at the Triumph Advance Deluxe Convertible Car Seat. As a first time parent, I didn’t know that there were such car seats out there, car seats that could accommodate a child from 5 pounds all the way up to 50 pounds! Talk about a huge money saver!

I love that with the Triumph Advance Deluxe, we don’t have to worry about purchasing a new car seat each time our little one hits a growth spurt. The car seat straps can be adjusted to a child’s height and waist, with a few simple tugs and turns. I love that the car seat has infant head and body pillows that can be removed once our little one grows out of them.

As for safety features, Evenflo has increased rear facing for the Triumph Advance Deluxe. Infants weighing 5 to 35 pounds are able to ride facing the rear. If you prefer your little one to ride facing the front, toddlers weighing 20 to 50 pounds can do so. Another great feature is the energy absorbing foam liner, which ensures that energy isn’t transferred over to your child if you happen to go over a pothole *cringes*, speed bump, or worst case scenario get into an accident.

The Triumph Advance Deluxe Convertible Car Seat can be purchased at Babies R Us. If you are unsure if this car seat will fit in your vehicle, visit carseatdata.org for a reference. I recommend that before installing the car seat, the demo video is viewed on Evenflo’s website and that the instruction booklet is read thoroughly. With that being said, happy car seat shopping!

SkinMD Shielding Lotion

logo-in SkinMD Shielding LotionThis little 4 ounce plastic bottle packs a punch. I am fair skinned with blond hair and I sunburn easily. Did I mention sensitive skin? Well, I’m not only “fragrance” allergic to most hand creams and moisturizers, for a double-whammy my skin will either break out in a rash or just break out. So was I skeptical and/or nervous about testing this? You bet I was.

(From their website www.skinmdnatural.com) According to Dr. Helton, shielding lotions help prevent damage to the skin by bonding with and protecting the skin. “They not only add moisture, but also help stop the loss of your natural moisture.”

Because it’s used and prescribed by dermatologists, I figured it was something I would like. So I squeezed a4oz-thumb SkinMD Shielding Lotion bit into my palm and rubbed all over my hands. It felt great and soaked right in. Then the scent wafted into my nose. It’s just too strong for me. I could actually taste it and that made me uncomfortable. It really felt good on my hands, however, being as smell-sensitive as I am, this is just not a product for me. My family jokes around that I have a nose like a blood-hound.

Perhaps a less-sensitive person will appreciate this more than I did. If they make a lotion that is fragrance-free I’d love to try that one.

The product was smooth and light. I am keeping my eyes out for a less fragrant one, however for people with skin problems such as eczema, this is truly the lotion to use. My daughter’s finance’s three-year old nephew (now thats a mouthful!) has eczema and is also fair-skinned and prone to allergies. I believe something like this may work for him. He’s a wee little hobbit of a boy (as I refer to him) and at such a young age fragrance may not make a difference to him as it does to me. It is a good product, I am just going to keep my eyes out for an unscented version.

Comfy and Stylish Wear for Women

I’ve been looking at some new options for pajama’s lately because I’m tired of wearing sweats and t-shirts (because that’s really all I own nowadays). Then I came up with hue pajamas while doing a search for places to find something new, and they look pretty awesome. They offer trendy and comfortable clothing, such as Socks, Tights, and Leggings (yummy!). It’s also nice that they are cheap, compared to some of the other places I have seen. I mean, 23$ - 25$ cheap. And they are pretty cute pajama’s. This one has to be my favorite.

HUE is the largest and fastest growing Legwear brand in Department Stores and in 2003, they introduced intimate apparel - today it is the fastest growing contemporary brand in sleepwear and panties.

Now if only I could get the credit card off the hubby. It’s time to shop!! Check out HUE today. I think you’ll love what you see! Comfy and Stylish Wear for Women

Baby Jamz Jammin’ Microphone

Baby Jamz Jammin' MicrophoneWe got Mini Buff a Baby Jamz Jammin’ Microphone from Walmart the other day and he absolutely loves it. I’m not to happy about the noise it makes (it should come with volume control), but he likes it and that’s all that matters.

It’s cute though. It has a few buttons on it like play, record (his favorite), and forward/backward. It also has a button that will play music for him to sing to including Old MacDonald, Bingo and Skip to my Lou. There are other toys that go with the Baby Jamz line, toys that promote learning, creativity and movement through music. They were created by Mathew and Solange Knowles (Beyonce’s father and sister). It’s the first ever hip-hop/rhythm-inspired preschool toy line and they’re available at your local Wal-Mart.

I thought about getting him some more, but I want to see if he stays with it. He’s picky about his toys. If he doesn’t I’ll just give it to my nephew. He’d love it to death. It’s almost as loud as he is. But if your toddler loves music or just bebopping to the radio, then check out the Baby Jamz line of toys.

LTDchix: T-Shirts for Moms

LTDchix Laundry DayHave you ever been to LTDchix? If not you should head on over there right now. I just got my t-shirts from them and I have to say they are just awesome. One came in pink with a beach cart mom and the other one came in orange with a laundry mom. I showed them to my family and they loved them.

I like how soft they are as well. They’re made from 100% cotton. They are jersey crew neck tees with contrasting (white) trim on the neck, cuffs and hem. And for $27.00, they’re a really great buy! I tried to give the bigger one to my mom but she didn’t like pink, so I kept it for myself, so I’ll have two really nifty shirts to wear. I thought about wearing the laundry one when I go do my laundry every week. :) It would be so fitting.

The store itself is great too. All their t-shirts are designed especially for moms and they have a shirt for every occasion and have “Living the Dream” underneath the artwork. They’re also very affordable, which is the best part. I was surprised to find that they cost less then other places I’ve looked at. So check LTDchix out today. Maybe you’ll find that shirt that’s perfect for you!

Mini Daily Planner by MomAgenda

Mini Daily Planner by MomAgendaI got my MomAgenda Mini Daily Planner in the mail the other day. It’s the cutest thing ever. I gave it to my mom, and she loved it right away. It came in several different colors but I thought the green one was the best *pictured*. It’s just the like the larger daily planner, but more compact.

These planners are meant especially for moms, but I think any woman could find great use in one. They allow you to keep your dates and plans, just like any other planner, but they also allow you to keep those of your children. So if Little Cindy Lou Who had a soccer game and her mom had her own plans, they could be kept in the same book, but separate so that they would know who had what on what day and when. :) I’ve been using mine for me and my son since he started school and I’m sure my mom is using hers for her business and whatever else she has going on.

I totally recommend this to all the moms of the world (and the ones who read this site). I think everyone could use one. Especially since they have so many great features that were thought up especially for us. :) So go check it out today!
